mary beard to be visiting sather professor of classical literature in the fall: roman laughter

Mary Beard will be the Visiting Sather Professor of Classical Literature at the University of California, Berkeley in the fall.

She will lecture on Roman Laughter.  Here is a list of the lectures.

The Sather lectures are published:  Sather Classical Lectures, University of California Press.  I own several of these, they are all interesting.  So you can look forward to Mary's in due time.
