Mestrius Plutarchus, better known as Plutarch and best known through his Parallel Lives, includes three senator
generals from the Hannibalic War in his collection of biographies. They are
Fabius (Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus, dictator and famous cunctator)
Flaminius (Titus Quintius Flaminius)
Marcellus (Marcus Claudius Marcellus)
